Reading the latest episode of Free Wheeling Film’s podcast, I realized that I never posted a recap of the latest episode. It was the Free Wheeling Film Podcast Special: Outraged Nina Humiliates Corey In Front of Tommy Orpington, and it was recorded live at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. The episode featured comedians Nina Conti and Corey Marden discussing a famous episode of SNL where Bill Hader played a psychiatrist and Andy Samberg played a patient. On the podcast, Corey and Nina discuss aspects of the sketch, such as the writing, the casting, and how the sketch came to be. Nina also recalls details of an incident that happened in her life while the episode was being filmed, which led to her

When Corey meets Nina, he is immediately smitten. Not only is he obviously attracted to her, but he also notices she’s cute and pretty and doesn’t need to be told that she is unique in a way most people don’t quite understand. Of course, he also notices that she’s a bit on the strange side, with her own set of quirks and foibles. What he doesn’t notice, at first, is that she comes from a less than privileged background, and what he does notice is that she’s smart enough to know that he’s smitten with her.

Spoilers and updatesCoronation Street sees Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) tackle Corey Brent in front of football star Tommy Orpington (Matt Milburn) next week.

Nina’s battle with alcoholism continues in an upcoming episode as she plans to attack hitman Corey (Maximus Evans), who was recently charged with murder and assault for the death of Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) and Nina’s injuries.

In the final anti-climactic episode, Corey again escaped justice when a judge released him on bail on the condition that he have no contact with the family and friends of the deceased. His ex-lover Asha Alahan (Tanisha Ghori) even risked her life to get proof of her involvement in the attack, but the judge sided with Corey’s lawyer after he exposed her health problems.

Coronation Street Spoiler – downward spiral

The following week, Nina again turns to alcohol for comfort. As she stumbles home, Uncle Roy Cropper (David Neilson) asks her where she went, but Nina lies to him. Roy tries to distract her and suggests she continue working on her comic, but in a fit of rage Nina rips out the pages and says it’s as much a waste of time as her life.

Later, Carla Connor (Alison King) finds Nina trying to steal another bottle of vodka from the corner store. To stop Nina from destroying herself further, she tries to convince her that alcohol is not the solution to her problems, but she pays no attention.

Coronation Street Spoiler – A Night Out Drinking

Nina’s condition deteriorates further when an important meeting is held at the factory. Unprepared for this after drinking all night, she bursts in and tells Sarah Barlow (Tina O’Brien) that she can quit her job.

She continues her self-destructive journey when she is joined by an older man, Huey, whom she met in town the previous evening. Daisy is concerned when Nina accepts Hughie’s invitation to return to her hotel. She calls Seb’s mother, Abi Franklin (Sally Carman), to express her concern.
Will Abi be able to get Nina out of the danger she finds herself in?

But Nina’s anger overwhelms her when she sees Corey in the hotel bar with local football legend Tommy Orpington (Matt Milburn). After Tommy gives Corey the award for best new talent for his football skills, Nina intervenes and humiliates Corey. She reveals to Tommy that the winner is the criminal who kicked her boyfriend to death. But the duo leaves, leaving behind a prize. Will Nina use the reward to bash Corey’s head in?
