New threats lie ahead for Team Flash as a powerful new villain wreaks havoc throughout Fear Me, forcing everyone to live out their worst fears. The psychic, played by Ennis Esmer, seems to be of a very different level than the other psychic villains we’ve encountered in The Flash, as even the shock absorbers successfully used against Gorilla Grodd didn’t work on him….. However, he is ultimately defeated by Cecile Horton, who is led by the thinking chair and helmet. He’ll probably come back, especially if he really is one of the attackers who damaged the Speed-Force itself. Psycho isn’t as menacing in the comics as he is in the series, but he’s very powerful, and for good reason. Let’s look at it together.

Bashir, last name unknown, was born in Zandia, a small European country known for one thing above all else: The crime. Zandia, founded and formed by the Blood Church, was so steeped in corruption and violence that it became second nature to them, so much so that they offered free citizenship and thus diplomatic immunity to overseers from around the world. In this curious context, Bashir managed to be even more on edge, working as a spy and stealing information for his government until he started doing it for himself. After a severe and devastating headache, Bashir discovered that he had acquired incredible psychic powers that allowed him to do almost anything he wanted with his mind and the minds of others: from simple telepathy to mind control, from telekinesis to illusion projection, nothing was beyond his reach, and he could manipulate the thoughts and emotions of others at will. Professionally, this proved to be a great advantage, as he could now extract the data he needed directly from the brains of his targets. But because he was so powerful, he had no reason to work for the government anymore: He called himself Psychar and became a kind of Robin Hood: He begins to use his newfound powers to read the minds of supervillains, learn their secrets and blackmail them with them. He was an information broker, but the only one who earned anything from his trade was now himself and no one else. He even described himself as smarter than Robin Hood. But at some point, a supervillain realized what he was doing and took countermeasures: Roulette, one of her main targets, has telepathic blockers installed in her apartment that prevent her from accessing herself or her clients….. The plan was easily solved with the arrival of The Flash.

The Flash has traveled the world in search of the forces, the cosmic forces that keep the balance of existence with their constant battle for eternal power. Flash thought Psych was a conduit for the Wise Force, one of the four, and Psych offered his help in exchange for assistance. He posed as an A.R.G.U.S. agent to destroy Roulette’s criminal empire. He convinced Flash to help him access his mind by turning off his blockers….. Unfortunately, at the same time he was approached by Gemini, a power-hungry love who wanted the Flash’s Speed Force. Psycho sold them the hero. When Flash managed to take out the blockers in his disguise, Psycho projected the illusion of his scarlet costume onto him, so that all the villains in the Roulette casino would know who he really was. Unfortunately, the Twins played him twice, and also behind the Sage Force. Attacked by both, Flash and Psych lost their powers and eventually united to demand their return. With combined forces, Flash and Psycho defeated the twins, and during the fight, Bashir even killed Santiago, the couple’s husband, leaving his partner Belladonna helpless and grieving. After the ordeal, Bashir gave the Flash some advice on powers and walked away. The overlap between the two channels happened again when The Flash tried to reunite the four avatars: Apparently the Speed Force has been absorbed by the other forces, and has sent its agent, Black Flash, to kill the channels of the other forces to protect itself. While Fuerza and Steadfast, the Force and the Force Channels respectively, had agreed to the alliance so far, Psych had other plans and was only pretending: If that Black Flash was that dangerous, he would use the others as bait to lure and destroy him, even if he had to sacrifice the lives of others to do so…

Bashir is a smart and manipulative man, trained to cheat and play both sides in any situation, always coming out on top. As a medium he is a conduit for the Wise Force, which gives him enormous psychic abilities: He is a powerful telepath who can read anyone’s mind and even project his own thoughts onto others; he has telekinesis and can fire powerful psychic bolts; he can create illusions, even for several people at once, and can control anyone’s thoughts; he can also establish psychic connections between himself and others and open portals to the dimension of the Wise Force. As a spy and a villain, Psycho only plays by his own rules, and everyone else is just pawns he uses in his own games, no matter the cost, no matter the odds.
